Our 2010 Mission Trip to Belize was a GREAT success as always. We hit our goal of treating 775 people with dental needs! Truly a rewarding experience! There were also over 1200 medical treatments, all in 7 locations. And the greatest news is that there were 24 decisions for Christ! This always warms the heart. It’s time for us to gear up for our February 2010 trip to Belize. We are putting forth our greatest efforts to treat some 700 kids who have never seen a dentist! It was a week of extraordinarily satisfying hard work for the team of forty-two volunteers who traveled to Belize in March 2008. We were the volunteers, but felt grateful for the appreciative smiles of the kind and humble people of Belize. We will forever cherish our Belize Mission Trip memories.
The Roaring Creek Dental Team - Laurie, Dr. Bryant, Carol, Dorothy, and Christy
The dental team, consisting of two dentists and seven supporting staff, was very successful, performing 275 cleanings and screenings and providing fillings and extractions for 175 patients! The medical team of two doctors and eight supporting staff treated 300 patients for a variety of illnesses and complaints and even performed one surgery. Finally, the construction team successfully replaced the roof at the Deaf Institute.
In all, eighteen souls made decisions for Christ, making the Mission Trip a success from every standpoint.
We offer our thanks to the many volunteers and to all who generously supported the mission through donations of money and material supplies.
Special thanks to Rebecca Kiessling and Dr. David Parmer for their generous donations, to Patterson Dental/Joe Cooper, Henry Schein/Mike Parsons, Discus Dental and Kerr Dental company for donating dental supplies and to Chic-Fil-A locations in Decatur and Huntsville for generously donating fund raising materials. The people of Belize were wonderfully appreciative of even the smallest gesture of help and would want us to pass along to all of you their heartfelt thanks.

BELIZE TRIP JANUARY 2009!
Britney, Carol, Forrest, and Denice
Another awesome trip! We were blessed enough to have the privilege of being with our good friends in Belize again. We had two newcomers on our team this year, Denice Carter and Britney Scott.
“It was very enlightening to see how they live in Belize”, Denice says. “The trip made me realize how blessed we are and how we make petty things seem so big. They are very patient and loving. I don’t feel like we put a dent in the work that needs to be done there, but you leave hoping you made a difference. And not only do you look at what you did for them, you leave realizing what they did for you. They made me realize what I take for granted. One of the highlights of the trip was my new friend, Brett Smith. Brett is a 25 year old that I prayed with. He accepted Christ and then came to church with us. He along with others there, mainly the children, are like lights! I will definitely go back and encourage others to do so.”
Britney says “Words can’t really describe the feelings I have from this trip. It is something that you have to experience for yourself. Everyone is so sweet and appreciative. It was life-changing and very rewarding. We helped a lot of people there so I do feel like we made a difference, but there is still plenty of work to be done so I would definitely go back and I recommend others to go. – REMARKABLE!”
